2B-Attitude Instrument Flying

  • Attitude indicator is the primary instrument during change’s in pitch or bank.
  • Altimeter is primary when maintaining altitude.
  • Heading is primary for maintaining bank control, or straight flight.
  • Level Flight Configuration:
    • Pitch for altitude
    • Power for airspeed
  • Transitioning to a straight climb, the attitude indicator is primary.  Once established in the climb, the airspeed indicator becomes the primary pitch instrument and attitude indicator becomes supporting.
